Carl Ritchey Marlow's Obituary
Carl Ritchey Marlow, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 1:50 a.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born on November 25, 1915 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Sterling and Louise (Hopp) Marlow. He married Zelma Wanita Rich on April 19, 1940 in Perryville, MO and she preceded him in death on August 7, 2008. He was a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, retired from Peabody Coal Co. as a coal miner and mechanic and was a member of the U.M.W.A. Carl was a kind and gentle man who would help anyone who needed it and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by three children: Carla Kay "Corkey" Mathenia, Relda Gail Marlow and Ritchey (Valorie) Marlow all of Pinckneyville, IL, one sister: Gladys Seibert of Pinckneyville, IL, seven grandchildren: Amy Kay Halleran, Kyla J. (Tim) Deaton, Staci Lynn (Brandon) Blankenship, Kimberly K. (Robert) Hayes, Kandace Sue (Matt) Collins, Jennifer Taryn Marlow and Austin Glen (Nicole) Marlow and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to VNA-Tip Hospice " Luke Memorial Hospice", Pinckneyville, IL or Pery County Humane Society.
