Brian "Flash" Flanary's Obituary
Brian "Flash" Flanary, age 65, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in his home.
Brian was born on June 11, 1956 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Charles Woodruff and Dorothea Ramona (Koontz) Flanary. He had worked as a grocery clerk for the Perry County Market Place, Pinckneyville, IL for many years and also as a laborer in the Perry County area. Brian was a member of the Moose, Pinckneyville, IL and loved to water ski, play poker, and play the Illinois State Lottery. He was extremely proud of his daughter, Chelsea.
Survivors include his daughter, Chelsea (Christopher) Maynor of Murphysboro, IL; five grandchildren, Sydney, Reese, Maci, Austyn, and Lane; one brother, Randol (Mickey) Sumner of Pinckneyville, IL; four nieces, Christian (Bobby) Wildermuth of Pinckneyville, IL, Theresa (Brad) Morgenthaler of Pinckneyville, IL, Jamie (Dan) Blazier of Nashville, IL, and Melody Lewis of Sesser, IL; three nephews, Scott (Sonya) Sumner of San Diego, CA, Josh (Rachel) Lewis of Scheller, IL, and Andrew Lewis of Sesser, IL; several great-nieces and great-nephews; lifelong best friends, Pat Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL, and Bobby Hutching.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Kathleen Lewis.
A public visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at the Moose, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Brian's daughter, Chelsea Maynor and her family.
