Bonita M. Zimmerman's Obituary
Bonita M. Zimmerman, age 50, of Carbondale, IL, formerly of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale Emergency Room, Carbondale, IL. Bonita was born on March 22, 1963 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to John A. and Betty Lee (Hammack) Zimmerman. Bonita was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Carbondale, IL and the Newman Center. She was a 1982 graduate of DuQuoin High School and a graduate of SIU Carbondale. Bonita loved animals, especially cats, was an avid computer user and enjoyed traveling and auto racing. Survivors include two brothers, Gerald F. Zimmerman of Carbondale, IL and John E. "Eddie" (Tammy) Zimmerman of Coulterville, IL; two sisters, Ann M. (Jim) Willgoose of Nashville, IL and Rose (Tom H.) Thornton of Pinckneyville, IL; six nieces and nephews, Bob and Julie Zimmerman, Jeff, Brad, Blake Thornton and Caitlin and her wonderful and devoted caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bob Flannery officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery or Camp Little Giant c/o Touch of Nature Environmental Center SIU Carbondale.
