Bobby Dean Gilter, age 66, of Oakdale, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 5:10 a.m. in Friendship Manor, Nashville, IL. Bobby was born on July 11, 1942 in Nashville, IL, a son to Walter Jacob and Ruth (Beard) Gilter. On August 24, 1975, he married Glenda Marie Ramsey in Nashville, IL and she survives. He was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, and had worked as a book binder at World Color Press, Sparta, IL for over 32 years. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and loved the outdoors, bass fishing and watching movies. He loved being with his family and always enjoyed the Ramsey family Christmas gatherings. Survivors include his wife: Glenda M. Gilter of Oakdale, IL, two sons: Jeff Gilter of Pinckneyville, IL, and Chad Kiefer of Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter: Bamby Gilter (fiancé: Joey Raney) of Oakdale, IL, two step-brothers: Ron Thomas of Las Vegas, NV, and Dennis (Brenda) Thomas of Swansea, IL, three grandchildren: Jade M. Gilter, Cole Raney, and Rily Dean Wittenborn, all of Oakdale, IL, and step-mother: Helen Gilter of Nashville, IL,. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a step-father: Pete Thomas. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Elkton Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
