Blanchard Willard Doolin's Obituary
Blanchard Willard Doolin, age 90, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in his home. Blanchard was born on May 6, 1924 in Nashville, IL a son to Ben and Hattie (Campbell) Doolin. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. On September 5, 1950, he married Nellie Coates in Nashville, IL. On June 29, 1979, he married Beulah Baudison in Murphysboro, IL and she preceded him in death on March 20, 1994. Blanchard was a member of the Roes Dale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, a firefighter for the Coulterville Fire Department for many years and enjoyed trapping, gardening and spending time with his family. Survivors include five sons, David Doolin of Maryville, TN, Tom Doolin of Coulterville, IL, Timothy "Craig" Doolin of Port O'Connor, TX, John Doolin of Pinckneyville, IL and Billy Doolin of Tilden, IL; ten grandchildren, Dawn Davine Doolin, David Doolin, Jr., Benjamin Doolin, Christopher Doolin, Alex Doolin, Johnnie Doolin, Genelle Doolin, Amanda Smith, Justin Doolin, Chelsea Doolin; eight great-grandchildren Joshua, Linkyn, Sara, Chase, Joseph, Trey, Lily and Lexi; one great-great grandchild Ryan; and a sister, Mary Miles of Coulterville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beulah Doolin; three brothers, Edward Doolin, Elvis Doolin and Wilbur Doolin; and two sisters, Agnes Bouas and Wilma Ibendahl. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Parrish Cemetery, Vergennes, IL with military graveside rites by the Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post # 2504 Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
