Billy L. Jeremiah's Obituary
Billy L. Jeremiah, age 64, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family and favorite nurses. Billy was born on December 4, 1949 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Elmo and Theresa (Dunn) Jeremiah. On October 24, 1992, he married Paula Noward Wildermuth in St. John United Church of Christ, DuQuoin, IL and she survives. Billy worked as a general foreman for Illinois Power, where he continued to work for 46 years. While working, he was drafted and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. Billy was a member of the DuQuoin American Legion Post #647, where he was elected and once held the office of District Commander of the 25th District. He was also a member of the DuQuoin V.F.W. Post #513, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pinckneyville, IL and IBEW Local 702. He never met a stranger and would help and give to anyone. Billy loved the St. Louis Cardinals, watching football and NASCAR, blowing leaves, reading sports novels and spending time with his family, grandkids and his friends in his "man cave." Survivors include his wife, Paula Jeremiah of Pinckneyville, IL; mother, Theresa Jeremiah of DuQuoin, IL; two daughters, Amy Wildermuth and Kelly (Christopher) Wildermuth- Reyes all of Pinckneyville, IL; three grandchildren, Kelton Linze, Karlee Reyes and Norah Hagene all of Pinckneyville, IL; sister, Sandy (Rick) Degler of DuQuoin, IL; two nephews, Eric (Amanda) Ramsey and Scott (Kimberly) Loyd all of DuQuoin, IL and four great nieces, Elizabeth and Emma Loyd and Samantha and Brylee Ramsey all of DuQuoin, IL. Billy also leaves behind many friends, co-workers and "buddies" He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo Jeremiah. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Graveside military rites will be provided by DuQuoin V.F.W. Post 513, DuQuoin American Legion Post #647 and United States Army. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
