Bill Craig's Obituary
Bill Craig, age 82, passed away Monday morning, August 28, 2006 at 10:55 a.m. in the Franklin County Hospital, Benton, IL. Bill was born in Goreville, IL on March 17, 1924, a son of John Logan and Minnie Ellen (Bouie) Craig. He married Rowie Ellen Phillips on December 11, 1944 in DuQuoin and she survives. During his lifetime he was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Benton Eagles Club, loved hunting, fishing, and training dogs for bird and raccoon hunting. Survivors include his wife: Rowie, two sons: Billy J. Craig, Jr., and his wife, Joyce Elaine, of DuQuoin, Donald Ray Phillips, and his wife, Joann, of DuQuoin, six daughters: Mary Alice Ridgeway, and her husband, Walter Frank, of DuQuoin, Shirley Jean Murray, and her husband, Carl, of Orient, IL, Marjorie Ellen Brown, and her husband, Charlie, of Mt. Vernon, IN, Juanita Bowers, and her husband, Charles, of Detroit, MI, Carolyn Joann Emery of West Frankfort, IL, and Rosalie Craig of Benton, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son: John Logan Craig, five sisters, four brothers and two grandsons: John Ray and Billy Dale Craig. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home, DuQuoin, with Bro. Kent Eaton officiating. Interment will be in the Cudgetown Cemetery, rural DuQuoin. Friends may call at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home, DuQuoin, on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. till services. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
