I just read this. So sorry to hear about your mother. I remember her from when I was very young. That Pinckneyville Pool sure did bring a lot of us together and made a lot of memories for us all.
Birth date: Jun 8, 1927 Death date: May 4, 2019
My mother, Betty Gene Hulsey, was born in Doe Run, Missouri in June 8, 1927. She lived for a short time in Dupo, IL and then moved to Pinckneyville, IL when she was in 2nd grade. A few years later, her sister Patsy Ruth arrived. T Read Obituary

My sincere condolences go to the family at this trying time. There is a Bible passage that comforts me greatly. Jesus promised he will resurrect our loved ones. John 5: 28 and 29. When earth becomes the place of peace Jesus talked about at Matthew 5:5, then we will live the promise of everlasting peace. Psalm 37:29. We have a promise from God at Revelation 21:3,4. There will be no more death and pain. There is more comfort to be read about in God's Word, the Bible concerning the resurrection and reuniting with our loved ones. May God's peace be yours. Isaiah 26:4.
I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother's spirit I can see is a big part of who you are
Jill My heart goes out to you and your family. Our family was touched by dementia, also, before my dad passed away. It is painful to watch the vibrant person you love robbed of their being. I loved your mom when I was in school. She was always kind and had a great sense of humor. With sympathy, Cindy Leonard
Although I never met your mother, she sounds like she was a wonderful person, due to your loving obituary. May she rest in peace. Suzanne Novoselac Troy, IL (Formerly from Coulterville)
Jill, I am so sorry for your loss, now and the years before as she lost her connection to the world and you. Met memory is that she taught you to make the best biscuits in the world. I thought that in 1980 and my opinion remains unchanged.
Thank you for the lovely remembrance of your Mom. Even though she was ill for a long time, I know how difficult it is to lose a loved family member.
Jill and family, I am so sorry to hear about Ms. Betty. I used to be the administrator at coulterville care center. You mom was one of my favorites. I used to keep a stash of peanut butter cups in my desk especially for her. She was a awesome lady. I was also impressed that unlike many you visited often despite the distance that you had to travel. You also always showed your appreciation to the staff. Prayers for you and your family. I will be unable to attend the wake even though I want to because I'm working full time and finishing my master's in business the week.
