Betty Louise Gimber's Obituary
Betty Louise Gimber, age 82, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on January 19, 2017 at 2:45 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL. Betty was born on May 1, 1934 in Tilden, IL, a daughter to Parley Price and Mary O'Neill. On October 6, 1953, she married Donald Gimber in Corinth, MS and he survives. She was an active member of the Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL, the Coulterville Women's Club, and a lifetime member of the Coulterville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She served on the school board and the Randolph County Beautification Committee. Betty was involved and served on many other clubs and committees. She wrote the popular newspaper column "Prairie Winds" and wrote many articles about Coulterville history. Throughout her life she always worked in the public. She worked many years at Sparta News Plaindealer and Falkenhein Accounting. Survivors include her husband, Donald Gimber of Coulterville, IL; one son, James Gimber of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Donna (Bobby) Campanella of Willisville, IL; two brothers, James Price of Coulterville, IL and Mark Hutchings of Pomona, IL; one sister, Ruth Ann (Bob) Edgar of Sparta, IL; three grandchildren, Jeff Gimber, Jessica (Ryan) Fisher, and Tyson Kempfer; four great-grandchildren, Michael Fisher, Rylee Fisher, Isabella Fisher, and Andrew Fisher, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Gimber; and daughter, Betsey Gimber. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kimberly Allen officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Coulterville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
