Betty Jean Brammeier's Obituary
Betty Jean Brammeier, age 82, of Oakdale, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 9:15 p.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, IL. Betty was born on January 20, 1929, in Springerton, IL, a daughter to Arthur and Effie (Woodrow) Fuqua. On October 30, 1948, she married Chalmer "Sam" Brammeier in Oakdale, IL and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2004. She was a member of the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church and loved quilting, gardening, fishing, playing pinochle, and babysitting her granddaughters. Betty was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed taking care of her home and family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Betty is survived by one son, Dan Brammeier of Oakdale, IL; one daughter, Cindy Harre of Oakdale, IL; two brothers, Arson (Dolly) Fuqua and Charles Ray (Earlean) Thompson both of Oakdale, IL; two sisters, Mary Lou (Gene) Bube of Green Valley, IL and Violet Clark of DuQuoin, IL; four grandchildren, Stefanie (Clinton) Bauza , Jayme (Kyle) Schoenherr, Samantha Harre and Breanne Harre; six great grandchildren, Cody, Brayden, and Anna Bauza, Carter and Ty Schoenherr and Jackson Jetton; and many dear nieces; nephews; and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Fuqua; mother, Effie Fuqua-Thompson; stepfather, Cloyd Thompson husband, Sam Brammeier; two brothers, John Fuqua and Hayward Fuqua; one sister, Imogene Rankins; and son-in-law, Kenneth Harre. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Carson officiating. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Oakdale Grade School or Oakdale Homecoming.
