Bernard Anthony Huelsmann's Obituary
Bernard Anthony Huelsmann, age 87, of Pinckneyville, IL, formerly of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 1:50 a.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, DuQuoin, IL. Bernard was born on February 25, 1925 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Frank and Mildred (Flint) Huelsmann. On September 13, 1946, he married June Hahn in Walnut Ridge, AR and she survives. On September 13, 2012 he and his wife would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He was a veteran of the United States Marines Corp, proudly serving his country during WW II in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. Bernard was of the Catholic faith and worked in vending machine sales and service for over 45 years, most recently for Harold Parker, Parker Amusements. He was a member of the DuQuoin American Legion Post 647, DuQuoin V.F.W. Post 513 and the "Lost Forty Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, dancing and loved playing cards. Bernard is survived by his wife; two sons, Steven (Sharon) Huelsmann of Pinckneyville, IL and Ray (Tonda) Huelsmann of Marion, IL; three grandchildren, Lee Ann (Melvin) Williams of Pinckneyville, IL, Kaci Huelsmann of St. Louis, MO, and Chad Huelsmann of Murphysboro, IL; one step grandchild, Hillary (Justin) Wing of Herrin, IL; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two special nieces, Wanda Thorpe and Patty Maynor and many dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen McMillan and Virginia Stovall. Graveside services will be held at Parrish Cemetery, Vergennes, IL on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Darrel Thorpe officiating. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fairview Nursing Center, DuQuoin, IL.
