Augusta M. Lacy's Obituary
Augusta May Lacy, age 95, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008, in Fair Acres Nursing Home, in DuQuoin, IL. Augusta was born on September 2, 1912 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to August and Elizabeth (Loos) Kuhnert. On November 2, 1932, she married Henry C. Lacy in Winkle, IL and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1958. She was a homemaker, the oldest member of Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL, and a member of the Farm Bureau. She loved gardening, canning, and baking for others, and was actively involved in her family and farm. Augusta is survived by two sons: Leroy (Erla) Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL, and Harry (Joanne) Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL, two daughters: Norma (Charles) Doolin of St. Louis, MO, and Betty (Virgil) Jausel of Pinckneyville, IL, one daughter-in-law: Frances (Loren) Rice, of Pinckneyville, IL, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Carl D. Lacy, eight brothers: Harry, Johnnie, Louis, Willard, Dale, Lee, Leslie, and Leonard Kuhnert, and Dean Davis as an adopted brother, three sisters: Lillie Loos, Vera Kuhnert, and Bonnie Schwebel, and one great-grandson: Matthew Buschschulte. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Winkle Baptist Church,Winkle, IL with Reverend Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at Winkle Baptist Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL.
