Arthella "Art" Walker's Obituary
Arthella "Art" Walker, age 76, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:50 p.m. in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Art was born on November 17, 1933 in Adin, IL, a daughter to Avery and Amy (Draper) Hall. She worked as a waitress for many years at various restaurants. She went to the senior citizens luncheons everyday in Sparta and would help carry lunch trays for those who were unable. Art was very caring and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Rona Kay (Jim) Douglas of Coulterville, IL and Robert Joe (Madonna) Szostak of Mt. Vernon, IL; six grandchildren, Kathy (Chris) Patterson, Mandi Szostak, Starlet, Jamie, Larry (Betsy) Szostak and James Douglas II; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Avery Hall; mother and stepfather, Amy and Bernie Hillyard; one daughter, Sharon Szostak; two sisters, Mogene Friend and Dora Cantrell; and one brother, Otha Hall. Graveside services will be held at Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Tom Foster officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Passages Hospice, Belleville, IL.
