Anthony Anders' Obituary
Anthony "Antno" Anders, age 44, of Carbondale, IL, formerly of DuQuion, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 12:50 a.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, DuQuoin, IL.
Anthony was born on April 22, 1976 in DuQuion, IL, a son to Anthony Sherrell and Thelma Quinitta Anders. He had worked as a laborer for many years. Anthony attended Covenant of Grace Church, Carbondale, IL and loved watching and playing all sports. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, and especially loved his family who thought of him as a jokester.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather; Thelma and Steven Haynes of Carbondale, IL; one son, Dantrell Anders (fiancé, Tesha) of Marion, IL; one daughter, Alexis Anders of Carbondale, IL; four grandchildren, Ariyanah, Kamariah, Izabellah and Jakobe; two brothers, Lance (Amy) Anders of Belleville, IL and Steven Haynes Jr. of DuQuoin, IL; five sisters, Kamilah Terry of Park Forest, IL, Danielle Anders (fiancé, Kenneth Harris) of Herrin, IL, Juanita Sherrell of South Bend, IN, Mesha Sherrell-Gibson of St. Louis, MO, Latoya Sherrell of Cincinnati, OH; grandma, Zan Sherrell; special friend/sister; Michelle (MJ) Jackson; host of special aunts and uncles; special friends, Angel Van Myers and Angi Neeley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Sherrell; grandparents, Dee and Delores (Chihauhau) Anders, Herbert and Lucille (Knight) Sherrell and Norvell and Donna Haynes; and special uncle, Darrell Anders.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Fay Webster officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The family has requested that all attendees please wear masks.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Phase Four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced.
