Anna Agnes Stevens' Obituary
Anna A. Stevens, age 96, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at 10:42 a.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Anna was born on Jan 7, 1911 in Centralia, IL, a daughter to George and Julia (Rosenberger) Stiens. On October 3, 1931, she married Logan William Stevens and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1962. She was a homemaker, caregiver and housekeeper, a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Blue Army, Home Bureau, and a current member of the Perry County Farm Bureau. Anna loved gardening, sewing, visiting people at the nursing homes, and baking. She was especially well known for the delicious homemade rolls that she frequently baked to give to others. Survivors include three daughters: Wilma Schoeplein of Fort Washington, MD, Imogene (Joe) Hughes of DeSoto, IL, and Sarah (Bob) Kehrer of Lenzburg, IL, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Charles Stien and in infancy: Herman Stiens, and two sisters: Theresa Schubert and Sister Mary Cajetan S.S.N.D. Funeral services will be at the St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brain Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, St. Bruno Catholic Church, or to Masses.
