Anna Mae Houghland's Obituary
Anna Mae Houghland, age 88, of Pinckneyvillle, IL, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:37 p.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pinckneyville, IL.
Anna was born July 6, 1933 in Rice, IL, a daughter to Edward and Addie Mae (Jones) Hubler. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she married Albert Dean Houghland on September 19, 1953 and he survives.
Anna was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Anna enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons who grew up under her watchful eye.
Survivors include her husband, Dean of Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter, Debra Moore of Pinckneyville, IL; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Houghland; two grandsons, Shawn (Janelle) Moore, and Ryan (Kristi) Moore; two granddaughters, Stacey Perez (Kevin Reid) and honorary granddaughter, Brenna (Chris) Elston; three great-granddaughters, Meagan Boyd (fiancé, Zach Sharp), Maddie Boyd, and Alyson Perdue (Spencer Trimble); two great-great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Layton Sharp; a sister, Gladys Dempsay; a sister-in-law, Barb Hubler; a brother-in-law, Paul Dempsay; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Houghland; a sister, Virginia Dempsay; and a brother, Edward Hubler.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Anna's wishes were to be cremated and there will be no formal or public services at this time.
