Alma A. "Jausel" Magruder's Obituary
Alma A. "Jausel" Magruder, age 99, of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Swanwick, IL, passed away on August 18, 2010 at 1:25 p.m. in the Village of St. Peters, St. Peters, MO. Alma was born on April 2, 1911 in Swanwick, IL, a daughter to Adolph and Mary (Soetebeer) Jausel. On June 17, 1949, she married James B. Magruder in Pine Lawn, MO and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1978. Alma was a Southern Baptist and was a member of Highland View Baptist Church, St. Charles, MO. She was employed at Ashby Metal as a bookkeeper for over 12 years. Alma enjoyed fishing, sewing, crocheting, reading, and gardening and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by one sister, Florence Plant of Greenville, IL; four nieces, Betty Whitford and Darlene Cork, both of St. Charles, MO, Norma Lahr of Manchester, IA, and Nancy Jausel of Cedar Rapids, IA; one nephew, J. Robert Plant of Belleville, IL; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Ethel Heggemeier; one brother, Kenneth Jausel; and one nephew, James Heggemeier. Graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Missouri Baptist Children's Home, Bridgeton, MO. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
