Alma Rose Colston-Wilson's Obituary
Alma Rose Colston-Wilson, age 94, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 8:45 p.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, IL. Alma was born on February 18, 1920 in Coulterville, IL, a daughter to Henry and Maggie (Vickers) Knecht. On June 8, 1938, she married William T. Colston in East St. Louis, IL and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1971. She then married J. Merle Wilson on December 22, 1990 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2006. Alma was a member of Grandcote Reformed Presbyterian Church, Coulterville, IL and worked as a beautician for 15 years. She was a member of Coulterville V.F.W. Post #6865 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Coulterville Womens Club. Alma enjoyed playing bingo, embroidery, growing roses, reading, puzzles and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, William W. (Sherry nee Thomas) Colston of Okawville, IL and P.J. (Brenda) Colston of Coulterville, IL; daughter, Kitty (Jo) Wisely of Oakdale, IL; six grandchildren, Evie (Mark) Snead of Oakdale, IL, William P. Colston of Coulterville, IL, Jami Colston (Chris Holder) of Ava, IL, David (Steph) Remer of Woodlawn, IL, NaTasha Remer of Coulterville, IL and Gary (Joanna) Remer of Pinckneyville, IL; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Ross Edward Colston in 1970. Funeral services will be held at Grandcote Reformed Presbyterian Church, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Stark officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Grandcote Reformed Presbyterian Church, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice. Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
