Alma R. Brand's Obituary
Alma R. Brand, age 95, of Vergennes, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 12:38 a.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care, Pinckneyville, IL. Alma was born on July 1, 1914 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Dwight and Maida (Feltmeyer) Fisher. On February 7, 1931, she married Lester J. Brand in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1985. She was of the Baptist faith, had worked as a sales clerk at various locations around Pinckneyville over the years, enjoyed quilting, and dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include four sons, Donald G. Brand of Pinckneyville, IL; Vernie Richard (Trina) Brand of Wood River, IL; James David (Beth) Brand of Jerseyville, IL; and Billy Joe (Chris) Brand of Pekin, IN; a daughter, Rebekkah (Donnie) Garren of Salem, IL; a sister, Naidine (Floyd) Dehne of Pinckneyville, IL; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Charity Carson; two brothers, Paul Fisher and Kenneth Fisher; a brother-in-law, Howard Carson; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Fisher and Ilene Fisher. Private family services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Pinckneyville Health Care, Pinckneyville, IL.
