Alfie Ellen Chapman's Obituary
Alfie Ellen Chapman, age 86, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 in Herrin Hospital. Alfie was born on March 28, 1921 in Tamaroa, a daughter to Arthur and Dollie (Knapp) Adams. On May 9, 1935, she married Herman Frederick Chapman in Nashville, IL and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1996. She was a member of the First Apostolic Church, Pinckneyville and dearly loved her family and grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters: Vera Evelyn and husband Bob Bigham of Pinckneyville, Julia Ann James and special friend, Al Jabr of Carterville, and Phyllis Leona Woodside of Herrin, four sons: Donald Allen and wife Edna Louise Chapman of Tamaroa, Larry Herman and wife Johnnie Louis Chapman of Grapeland, TX, Richard Dean Chapman of Golconda, IL, and Roger Gail Chapman of New Caney, TX, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, three brothers, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Tamaroa Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Sunday, June 17, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
