Alberta M. McDaniel's Obituary
Alberta M. McDaniel, age 96, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 9:25 p.m., in Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.
Alberta was born on January 11, 1929, in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Albert and Ella (Waeltz) Frazer. Alberta worked as a secretary for McDaniel’s Refrigeration and was a homemaker. On November 24, 1950 she married Calvin C. McDaniel at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2005. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, IL. Alberta loved playing golf, bridge, reading and piloting their plane with Calvin. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas C. (Brenda) McDaniel of Pinckneyville, IL, Mark S. (Ruth) McDaniel of Pinckneyville, IL, and William R. (Freda) McDaniel of The Woodlands, TX; nine grandchildren, Jamie (Chris) McDaniel of Toronto, Canada, Taylor (Shannon) McDaniel of Woodlands, TX, Whitney (Jon) Kocher of Friendswood, TX, Stacie (Jared) McDaniel of Kansas City, Jessica (Jeremy) Clipperton of Gilbert, AZ, Jordan (Yahaira) McDaniel of North Hollywood, CA, Joseph McDaniel of Schaumberg, IL, Heather McDaniel of Garland, TX, and Graci McDaniel of Pinckneyville, IL; nine great-grandchildren, Gavin, Hannah, Juliette, Graham, Magnolia, Cibyl, Logan, Calvin, and Liza; special friend, Linda Allison of The Woodlands, TX; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin; two brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL, on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Jason Eisele officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Gideon’s International.
