Alberta M. Woodside's Obituary
Alberta M. Woodside, age 83, of Coulterville, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10:49 a.m., in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Alberta was born on January 11, 1941 in Rock Spring, WY, a daughter to Herbert Lloyd and Elizabeth Ann (Hill) Burnett. On July 29, 1961, she married Rolland "Dale" Woodside at his parents' home in rural Perry County, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2008. Alberta attended Calvary Church, Sparta, IL. She enjoyed quilting for numerous churches, family, and Annie's relatives. She also loved making the quilts with the Shamrock group and for the Swanwick picnics. Alberta strongly supported Al-Anon and attended meetings when she could. Alberta loved bowling on a league, belonged to Campers on a Mission with her brother, and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include three children, Leonard Woodside, Charles (Gina) Woodside, and Rose Headley, all of Coulterville, IL; two brothers, LeRoy (Irma) Burnett of Morton, IL and Robert Burnett of Mascoutah, IL; five grandchildren, Edwin Reese, Becky Woodside (Aaron Ingram), Clayton (Kristen) Woodside, Mason Woodside, and Austin Woodside; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessie, C.J., Fallon, Lorelei, and Brantley; numerous dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, David Burnett, Edward Burnett, H. Roy Burnett, and Lloyd Roger Burnett; one sister, Arlene Hackworth; and one son-in-law, Ted Headley, Jr.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.
Visitation will be at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Church.
