Albert Henry "Al" Kellerman's Obituary
Albert Henry "Al" Kellerman, age 84, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 7:44 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL. Al was born on November 29, 1931 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Adam J. and Anna Marie (Ledendecker) Kellerman. On October 27, 1955, he married Elizabeth Marie Brand in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. Al began his career in the 1950's as a cabinet maker and became one of the premier construction companies in the region. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL. He was an active member of the community serving on several boards including Pinckneyville Hospital Board, 5-Star Industries, DuQuoin, IL and St. Bruno School Board. Al was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 2522, Pinckneyville, IL, Pinckneyville Lions Club, American Legion Post 480, Steeleville, IL, proud member of Carpenters Local 636, Farm Bureau, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was the first governor of the Loyal Order of Moose 930, Pinckneyville, IL. He enjoyed woodworking, wine making, gardening, dancing, horseshoes, baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Kellerman; four sons, Pete (Donna) Kellerman, Patrick Kellerman, Frank Kellerman, and Fred Kellerman all of Pinckneyville, IL one daughter, Jeannette (Steve) Cowan of Chester, IL; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Milton Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister, Mary Ann Kellar of St. Louis, MO; fourteen godchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Patrick Tyler Kellerman; two brothers, Norman Kellerman and Clifford Kellerman and one sister, Theresa Epplin. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jim Nall and Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Masses or Tyler Kellerman Scholarship Fund. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
