Gregory "Greg" Charles Folden's Obituary
Gregory “Greg” Charles Folden, age 65, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 6:45 p.m., in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Greg was born in Pinckneyville, IL on December 3, 1959, a son to Charles Ray and Carol (Mann) Folden. He was married to Jane Giacomo from 1982 to 2021 and together they had two children, Justin and Jill.
Greg worked at World Color Press in Sparta, IL for 18 years and Nascote Industries in Nashville, IL for 25 years until his retirement in 2023. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church and occasionally attended Clarmin Baptist Church and Beaucoup Baptist Church. Greg was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he held offices of a Faithful Navigator-Fourth Degree, District Deputy, and Grand Knight. He was also a member of the local Eagles.
Greg’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. He loved the beach, deep sea fishing, and morning drives to watch for wildlife at Pyramid State Park.
Survivors include his parents, Charles Ray and Carol Folden; two children, Justin Folden of Pinckneyville, IL and special friend, Julia Johnson, Jill (Dustin) Nehrkorn; and two granddaughters Charlee Rae Nehrkorn and Kylee Mae Nehrkorn, all from Pinckneyville, IL; one sister, Julianne “Julie” Folden of Chandler, AZ; one brother, Marc (Katie) Folden and two nieces, Ava Folden and Brynn Folden, of McLeansboro, IL.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Joseph Folden; paternal grandparents, Charles T. “Chuck” and Elaine (Moak) Folden; and maternal grandparents, Leo C. and Bertha L. (Witcher) Mann.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The rosary will be recited Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., with Father Jim Nall officiating. Interment will be at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Illinois.
